Facades
Facades –Natural Stone Defies Wind and Weather.
A natural stone facade shapes a building's appearance for decades – and must withstand frost, UV radiation and weathering permanently. Hard, dense stones such as basalt, granite or porphyry have long proven themselves here, while sandstone and slate impress with warm tones and classic slate character respectively. At CAMT, we fabricate large-format facade panels to the millimetre – for curtain wall facades, plinths and outdoor wall cladding.
Requirements for Facade Stone
Outdoors, frost and weather resistance matter most, since moisture that freezes in cracks can damage stone over time. Dense, low-porosity stones such as basalt, granite or porphyry are especially resilient here. Colour stability under UV exposure and compatibility with common fastening systems – for example, as a rear-ventilated curtain wall – also play an important role in material selection.
At our CAMT showroom in Riesa, we advise you on format, thickness and surface finish to suit your building project.
